There are three main costs for applying for Probate (or Letters of Administration, or Resealing) in Victoria:

  1. Supreme Court of Victoria Filing Fee
  2. Victoria Grant Advertising Fee
  3. Solicitor Fee

1 Supreme Court of Victoria Filing Fee

The Supreme Court of Victoria will require an application filing fee in order to provide a grant. The amount of the filing-fee corresponds to the gross value of the Victorian estate.

The following are the current filing fees for the respective estates, for the 2025/2026 financial year:

The gross value of the estate is found by summing the value of all Victorian-based estate assets, such as bank accounts, real estate, shares, acommodation bonds etc. Note: in most cases, super & life insurance are not included in this gross value calculation.

2 Victorian Grant Advertising Fees

The cost of advertising the intent to apply for Probate (or Letters of Administration, or Resealing) in Victoria is $37.00. We will take care of the publication of this notice for your matter at-cost.

3 Probate Solicitor Fees
